Working To Secure The Long Term Future Of Bognor Regis Pier

Pier Point Visitor Centre Opening

During a frantic 3 week in April 2015 local businesses, Friends of the Pier and volunteers worked tirelessly to  renovate the old storage shed on the back of the pier into the new visitor centre for the Trust Pier Point, John Ayers the  owner  allowed the trust to use the space and  turn the run down shed into an information point and home for the Trust during our bid to the Heritage lottery Enterprise later this year.

The objective was to have the new facility open by the 4th May in time for the pier's 150th Anniversary.  Local companies offered their building services to assist the trust in this project.

We would like to thank Paul Riley & Lee Balchins and their team from South Promo Ltd for their help and guidance with this project and all the companies that offered us help including local companies that have given us materials for The Pier Point.

We are pleased to announce that Pier Point was finished ahead of time and  was a great attraction for visitors at the 150th Birthday celebrations but also was greatly appreciated by the Pier Society of Great Britain who visited the Pier and Pier Point 2 days before the Birthday celebrations.

We are grateful to the following companies who helped in creating the Pier Point Visitor centre. South Promo LTd, The Roofing company, Anglo Building and Renovations, Covers Timber and Building merchants, Abbey Scaffolding, Bognor Regis Jewson, Clinton Carpets, Dulux Decorator centre, Keene Plastering, DT Electrics, Southdown Brickworks and Goodheart Signs and Designs.
